Index 2007 Paraffin Cap

In 2007, Readymade was top nominated for an INDEX: AWARD for the company’s design and research of a safer paraffin cap to be used on existing paraffin bottles. INDEX: AWARD is the biggest design prize in the world and is presented every two years in Copenhagen. An award is given in five categories to designs that substantially improve important aspects of human life worldwide. INDEX: AWARD does not categorise design according to traditional labels - visual design, apparel and industrial design - since the organisers feel these categories do not fully reflect the interdisciplinary approach employed in most interesting modern design. INDEX: asks that the nomination bodies think horizontally, across design categories and industries, when selecting their nominees for the five categories vital to human life; BODY, HOME, WORK, PLAY and COMMUNITY. Readymade was nominated as a top nominee in the HOME category.
